Some Gauteng area experiencing water shortages #CAPonline

The Tswhane metro attributes cuts in Soshanguve to the 15% water restriction imposed Gauteng municipalities.

Municipal Spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, says it's unclear when water supply will be restored to the area.

Water tankers have been dispatched.

Mashigo has also warned that the Garsfontein reservoir, which supplies water to Pretoria East, is also under severe pressure.

Joburg water says demand is currently exceeding supply in the city and therefore some areas are currently without water.

Due to low water levels in the Lenasia reservoir, the areas of Zakarriya Park and Lenasia, south of Johannesburg have been affected.

Areas in the north such as Fairlands, Northcliff and Blackheath are also without water.

Taps have also run dry in areas such as Kensington, Malvern and Jeppestown South.

Level 2 water restrictions are still in place in Johannesburg.

The Ekurhuleni Municipality will also start rationing water from Monday.
