JOHANNESBURG - Wits University Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib says the university will complete an action plan in the next 10 days in order to implement the recommendations made after an alleged rape at one of its residences.

Habib appeared before the Commission on Gender Equality on Thursday as part of their investigative hearings into transformation at universities.
In October, students living at the Junction Residence accused the university of protecting an alleged rapist, who continued to live in the same block as his accuser after the matter was reported.
Habib says action plans will be completed in the next 10 days.
“She’s made a series of recommendations, each of the offices have been given action plans and in the next 10 days I will have an action plan.”
He says the senior executive team will monitor and track the progress of the plans on a quarterly basis.
Among Nomboniso Gasa's recommendations was for the Gender Equityoffice to improve their prosecutorial.
Gasa also recommended that the advocacy function ensure a perpetrator and the victim are never found to be living in the same residence again.
