‎My story of twenty years is not complete without Don Jazzy. We started together in London, then we took a big risk and went back home to Nigeria to grind with no support. We believed in each other when nobody believed in us or our sound.
‎
‎People think he signed me, but it was a full partnership. We agreed that sometimes he would fall back and be the powerful boss that people fear and respect, and I would be the one in front. On stage I even lay flat on the floor for him on purpose.
‎
‎That small act changed the story. The crowd saw the honour, the respect, and the mystery. Many thought he was older, many thought he was the label owner alone. We just smiled, because the plan was working and both of us knew our roles very well.
