Jazz singer Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and domestic assault after allegedly attacking his girlfriend with a golf club.
The star, who won season six of America‘s Got Talent, was taken into custody in West Virginia on Monday night after the fight, which spiraled out of control when he told his now-ex, the mother of his baby, that he was leaving her.
Landau allegedly slapped his girlfriend and slammed her head on the sidewalk outside their home.
She was treated at a local hospital and cops arrested Landau, who was released hours later after posting bail.
The singer’s manager tells CAP on the run he was defending himself after his girlfriend trashed their home with a golf club and then attacked him with the club and a knife.
