Taxi drivers are attacking Nigerians in Benoni in the East Rand. Flogging them with Shjambok. In recent weeks from November 2022 they had attacked about 6 Nigerians, who ended up being admitted in the hospital. Their last victim was admitted in the hospital with very Serious injuries including knife attack.
The first victim in November was brutalized and has not fully recovered from the ordeal.
The Consul General His Excellency Hon Andrew Idi with NICASA leaders visited the victim in the hospital. The CG emphatized with the victim and assured him that their matter will receive the required attention. This visit will be the second in two week. The victims were advised to open a case with the Police for proper investigation and follow up.
